The mission of the Judge David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law is to protect and advance the rights of adults and children who have mental disabilities.

DRA is a non-profit legal center dedicated to securing the civil rights of people with disabilities. DRA advocates for disability rights through high-impact litigation, as well as research and education. We do not charge our clients for our services.

The Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF), founded in 1979, is a leading national civil rights law and policy center directed by individuals with disabilities and parents who have children with disabilities.

The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) works to improve the lives of people with disabilities by guarding against abuse; advocating for basic rights; and ensuring accountability in health care, education, employment, housing, transportation, and within the juvenile and criminal justice systems.

Our services include assistance with immigration applications and court defense, work authorization, integration and case management support, support to unaccompanied minors, job development, English and civics, and citizenship preparation. We also assist immigrants in avoiding exploitation by unscrupulous practitioners by providing reliable information and realistic counsel about immigration status.

Founded in 2007, New Sanctuary Coalition (NSC) is a multi-faith immigrant-led organization that creates support systems for and empowers those navigating the immigration system. The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for the rights of unaccompanied immigrant children. Originally founded as a public/private partnership between the New York State Unified Court System and the Fund for the City of New York, the Center for Court Innovation creates operating programs to test new ideas and solve problems, performs original research to determine what works (and what doesn't), and provides expert assistance to justice reformers around the world.

Critical Resistance was formed in 1997 when activists challenging the idea that imprisonment and policing are a solution for social, political, and economic problems came together to organize a conference that examined and challenged what we have come to call the prison industrial complex (PIC).

The mission of the Emergency Release Fund is to ensure that no trans person at risk in New York City jails remains in detention before trial. If ​cash bail is set for a trans person in New York City and no bars to release are in place, ​bail will be paid by the Emergency Release Fund.

IWOC NYC has been fighting prison slavery in New York City and the surrounding area since December 2015. Directed by our prisoner members, we've been part of successful campaigns to prevent punitive changes to visitation and package policies at NYS prisons, helped form a coalition against so-called "gang" raids in the city following the largest raid in the city in April 2016 and helped raise funds for people directly affected by the prison-industrial complex. We run a regular study group in collaboration with inside IWOC members, and publish Kite, a prisoner-written newsletter for liberation.

NYC Books Through Bars is an all-volunteer-run group that sends free, donated books to incarcerated people across the nation.
