What is MWBE Certification?

Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Certification is a designation awarded to businesses that are at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by minority or women business owners. In New York City, MWBE certification provides access to valuable resources, including government contracting opportunities, financial assistance programs, and networking events.

Why Get Certified?

The goal of MWBE certification is to promote economic growth and equality by giving certified businesses a competitive edge in bidding for government contracts. The City spends up to $20 billion per year on goods and services.
