Starting a Child Care Business: Home

Regulations and Resources for starting an in-home child care center

Presentations on Market Research at BPL

When starting an in home childcare business, it's a good idea to make sure you have some information on your customers. This means looking at your neighborhood - are there families with children, are there already a lot of childcare providers? Brooklyn Public Library's Business & Career Center has resources online and on the shelf that can offer information on your market. Librarians can help you research your customers, your competition and suggest ways you can keep up with trends in your field of business. Every year they conduct workshops on how to find the information you need - take a look at  the presentations from this past year.  If you have any questions, you can contact the Business & Career Center at the Central Library, 718-623-7000, or send us an email question,
